My Personal Trainer

My camera was on the coffee table this morning while I was working out and I snapped this shot of Daisy Girl a.k.a. my personal trainer.  This is what I see when I get down on the floor to do my mountain climbers, push ups...etc.  Ha!  I find that if I don't talk to her she'll just sit and look at me but if I start talking she goes nuts.  You should see her do her stretches - she's good!

Anyway - I had to share.  I posted last month on March 16th that I was starting the 30 day shred and kind of giving up my gym routine.  It's been almost a month and although I have not lost the twenty pounds I thought I was going to I definitely feel better in my clothes.  I have to confess my counting points has not been going very well.  This week I've written everything down (it's only been two days) dilligently and I'm determined to get on that scale Saturday morning and see a change.  I'm just sick of the up and down with my weight.

I've been getting a lot of inspiration from Cathy Zielske's  blog.  She is a kick.  But she started doing Weight Watchers at the beginning of the year and has already lost 20 pounds.   If you have a chance go and read some of her posts.

She also got me started on this. Go Here.

Here is my subject.

So sweet and innocent.  Right?  He is a good kid.  I have nothing bad to say about this kid except he is the pickiest - most stubborn eater I have ever met.  Everyone who knows this little boy knows this.

So when I read Cathy's blog and found her Discernible Palate chart I immediately printed it out - in orange of course (his favorite color) and decided it is now or never to get him to not only try new things but get rid of some of his eating habits.  And I'm a big fan of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution.  I cannot believe kids are eating pizza for breakfast.  And they call it "breakfast pizza".  Anyway I sat down with Bill and Spence and we came up with a little bit different of a point chart and his ultimate goal is 250 points and he get's a trip to Disneyland.  Yes - I know - bribery.  Call me the world's greatest mother but for him it just may work.

I think it will be fairly difficult but at the same time he doesn't have real bad eating habits because I don't buy crap.  We don't eat fast food except for his occasional Chicken McNuggets and he has never had a soda in his life he only drinks water or lemonade.  So I think I have a pretty good base to start out with.  Positive thinking - right.

So far this week he has earned points for Oatmeal and a homemade turkey sandwich.  He will only eat Subway turkey sandwiches before now.  Like I said he is stubborn (that is actually an understatement) and he also ate some apples.  Two days - I'm proud.

As for me I need to be held accountable so I think - just maybe I'll start posting my weight and weigh in results to keep me really accountable.  Very scary thought but I think I will do it!  Saturday morning I'm heading to a meeting and will let you know the results on Monday.

Until then I leave you with a few pic's from our trip down to San Diego for my little cousin Jarred's Marine bootcamp graduation.  I'm so proud of him.  It gave me chills & tears all at once....

I love this picture of Spence.  Such a pretty building and the exchange was lovely;)

We also made a little stop since it was a hop, skip and a jump to my new favorite store Paper Tales So pretty and such a great variety.  I'm off on Friday and plan to spend the day home scrapbooking with some new inspriation...hopefully.

Enjoy your day!!!!
